I heard this a.m. on radio there is a four year plan to incorporate Devens as a town. There goes the snowmobiles!

When this happens Devens Reserve Forces Training Area will remain in place. They mean the public spaces under Mass Development this area is covered by MSP.

Devens policing is staffed by MSP C-9 barracks which is located on Devens at the old MP station. 90% of Devens is part of Mass Development and it's like a town now and the MSP patrol it like a town. The DOD Police patrol the remaining military posts the North and South posts which are still on Devens. Word has it that Mass Development will take those over soon so they can continue building new homes about 1800+ planned. Once it becomes a town and they decide to hire a police department, the newly formed town has to hire and train police officers as mandated under Chapter 41. The cadidates must have the FT municipal academy or attend one unless they can get a waiver from the mPTC.
