The Ohio State Highway Patrol released dash-cam video from a chase over the weekend in which the driver of a van scared many motorists with close calls. The person behind the wheel of the van was a 12-year-old East Cleveland boy, authorities said. Despite a blown left tire punctured by police stop sticks, the video shows that the driver kept racing away from troopers and then hit a wall. Cleveland police got bombarded will 911 cell phone calls about a driver speeding at more than 80 mph just past Dead Man's Curve in Cleveland. A police chase ensued, going through Middleburg Heights, Strongsville and Medina County, and eventually ending in Ashland County. The video showed the driver losing control on Interstate 71. The boy took his time shutting off the car and closing the door before surrendering to troopers, police said. "He said he was having trouble in school, being picked on, and he was upset," said OSHP Sgt. Carlos Smith. Police said the 12-year-old took his parents' van. He has been released to the custody of his parents and faces charges in juvenile court. Previous Stories:
