BOSTON -- A Bourne man was charged with murder Friday after his wife was found dead on a neighbor's sun porch.
NewsCenter 5's Jim Boyd reported that William Romero, 69, was arraigned in Falmouth District Court connection with the death of Elaine Romero, 66.
Barnstable District Attorney Michael O'Keefe said that the victim was found on a sun porch of home on Tahanto Road at about 6:30 a.m. by a neighbor.
"There isn't any murder scene that is a pleasant one, and this was certainly no exception. It's always disturbing to see a woman who is the victim of this kind of an assault. It's not a pleasant thing," O'Keefe said.
Neighbors said that they heard that the attack was brutal.
"We've recovered a number of implements -- one of which we believe was probably the weapon used to inflict the fatal blows. An analysis at the crime lab will (help) us in coming to a conclusion with the respect to that," O'Keefe said.
