WICHITA, Kan.- A recent webcast to a soldier stationed in Iraq is now being credited for busting a Wichita assault case. Army Sergeant Terence James is a Wichita police officer now serving in Iraq. Police said today he will be awarded the Wichita Police Department's Bronze Wreath of Merit for his actions in a domestic dispute incident. On July 20th, a Wichita woman used a webcam to tell her husband, an Army sergeant serving in Iraq, that she had been assaulted by her former boyfriend and the father of her daughter. She did not report the incident to Wichita police. But her husband told James, who is serving with him in Iraq, about the assault. James saw the woman's injuries on the webcam and contacted Wichita police. Then James stayed with the injured woman on the webcam until police officers arrived at the scene.
