Attacks on Chavez embarrassing to U.S.

The American media has reached an all-new low, if this is possible. The attacks on Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez are very embarrassing to me, someone who has read the history of our foreign policies in the past century.

First off, I thought that freedom of speech was a right, but network news has been preparing us for a change to privilege of free speech. We push our way of life constantly as long as it is on our terms, but God forbid foreign leaders come to our country and to what’s left of our Constitution to express their views, we call them names, or, even more embarrassing, refuse to acknowledge them.

I listened to the complete speeches of Mr. Chavez and Iran’s president. As usual the media has played sound bites, but if you listen to what these leaders are saying, the American people may understand why people hate America. They hate our policies that have crippled them for decades; they do not hate Americans. The fear mongers will happily continue the lie that is terrorism, so they can continue stripping us of our basic freedoms. Americans need to wake up to what has happened in this country. Border issues, terror and unwarranted invasions, acts of terrorism in foreign lands prove that as controlled as the media has always been in this country, the truth of America’s crimes against humanity are in the public eye. It is always fine if we do it because we are right, but if they do it?

Probably the dumbest thing they did was post his name and town. haha.

Chances are one of his co-worker's that is pissed off about what Chavez said reads it and next thing you know they're going at it in the parking lot after work....if he decides to wait that long.

This guy is a moron. Ya, god forbid they do. There is a big difference when the people who voted express their frustration and when some loudmouth talks just to be heard. I too listened to his speech and the Iranian leaders speech. Big difference between a political speech about his dislike for Bush's policy and his dislike for Bush. You can hate the policy all you want (hell 2/3 of Americans do), but there is no call for attacking him as a person, especially in his country.
Yes, we called him names.. it's our consitutional right to do that! I believe that falls under freedom of expression.
And yes, the press ignored his statements. Freedom of Press.
This guy seems like he is just a Bush-hater and he decided to use the 1st amendment to attempt to call the Press on their actions regarding the Venezuelian guy... he forgot the 1st amendment applies to the press, and more importantly the people, as well.
