One-hand typing

I saw this in another LE forum. The officers that belong to it were pretty concerned about finding out how to type with one hand for in-cruiser applications. I figured maybe someone here would be interested.

How to:

It was tough enough for me to learn how to keyboard with two hands. It took me two years to become efficient with two hands, so I can only imagine the practice needed for one hand. I still can't touch the 85 wpm that they show in the vid. I hit 80 wpm maybe once or twice under the most ideal conditions when I am looking at a hard copy. On average I am in the 60's. I wish anyone the best of luck that decides to take on this great task of keyboarding with one hand.

I'm just throwing this out for anyone interested.

I'd be willing to wager many of our members can type quite proficiently with one-hand, and practice regularly....

I was guessing that too, but like I said, just throwing it out.

Why type with one hand on your crusier laptop? Drive with your knees, it works.
