Largo, Florida - A 39-year-old Dunedin woman is in jail, accused of trying to cash counterfeit checks which she says were payment for a web cam sex performance.
Kathleen Hall was arrested at the Amscottt on Missouri Avenue in Largo where police say she was trying to cash two $850 checks.

Hall reportedly told police that she met someone online from Nigeria and agreed to perform a sex act on her web cam in return for money.
The checks came in an envelope with a Nigerian post mark, but police say they are counterfeit.
Hall is in the Pinellas County jail on $15,000 bond

I disagree on this one, this is actually a internet scam/mail fraud type of deal.
I actually was on Yahoo when some chick tries to offer me two checks to cash. She claims that she was a heir to some rich guy from Africa, and that since she can't trust no one else with them. She thinks I'm a nice guy by the way I chatted with her. hahaha.. Her story was for me to cash it and split it with her when she comes to the states. After ignoring her... She began pleain me to give her my name, address, phone number, to verify that I was legit.

I don't know if you guys know the scam part works but its something about they'll try to drain your bank account once they have all the information.. you know how they get your SSN?

Well, when you go cash their check. The bank will write down your D.O.B and SSN (for some that didn't swap to random.) The crooks will get a e-copy of that check through their bank with all your information.
