Who wants to take over MassCops?

Just kidding, figured that might get your attention. Though MassCops is not up for grabs some of the other NEPN domains are.

I am looking to transfer ownership of the other NEPN sites. I have discovered that I do not have the time or interest in developing similar sites for the other New England states. My main focus is and will be on this site.

I will keep the main NEPN domain http://www.nepn.net/ and continue to link to the other sites.

http://www.conncops.com/ will go to Kate, but I am looking for one member of law enforcement from each of the remaining New England states to take on the responsibility of owning, developing and maintaining the remaining sites.

http://www.mainecops.com/
http://www.nhcops.com/
http://www.vtcops.com/
http://www.ricops.com/

What's the catch? How much will it cost you?

There is no catch, there are a few requirements. First you have to have been a participating member of MassCops for at least one year. Second you must be a member of law enforcement in the state that represents the domain you are going to take over. Third you have to submit a letter of interest via email to gil@masscops.com with your development plans for the domain.

The cost involved depend on you, I am not selling the domains I am giving them to qualified law enforcement persons that are interested in developing a site similar to MassCops. The new owners would be responsible for hosting, domain renewals and software purchases as needed. This would be your domain.

I really think that with a little time and effort the other NEPN sites could take off, I just don’t have the time to dedicate to this.

Candidates will be selected based on the content of your letter of interest. In your letter please indicate what agency you work for, your position as well as your plans for the site should you be chosen.

Deadline for the letter is 9/15/06

How about changing the name to NECops.com? Dissolve those other domains, cause we actually have people from all over the country that are members here. Vegas, LA, Texas, Florida etc.

MassCops is to well known to change the domain name now.

You're definately right on that one... MassCops has been quoted in newspapers, by various bloggers, by cheese eaters and job applicants.
