On Friday, 04/0904, Dateline ran an story about "An unprecedented 14-month investigation examining whether racial profiling exists in Cincinnati and other cities across the country"

Dateline examined moving and non-moving violations from 12 different police agencies through the U.S, including Boston, Worcester and Springfield, MA.

According to Dateline "investigation" , minorities are more likely to receive non-moving violations than whites. YADA YADA BUll@$%! Dateline stated that police officers tend to pull over/stop people for minor violations just to find out if the driver/occupants have any, contraband, guns and warrants.

Dateline talks the shooting death of Timothy Thomas, a 19 year old black male living in a kid who lived in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dateline basically down played the fact that Thomas had 14 traffic warrants when he ran from the police, who eventually shoot Thomas.

Dateline basically said Thomas was shot because he had 14 misd. traffic warrants.

I am just wondering if anyone else had seen this one sided story????

One sided doesn't do it justice. That guy from Shrewsbury was stopped after SPD ran his plate and his plate came back REVOKED and the owner SUSPENDED, hence he was arrested. The story led you to believe he was just stopped because SPD didn't like the color of his skin. Dateline conveniently boasted of his VETERAN status and his military record without mentioning his RMV status.
A very poor piece of journalism that hurts not only police but any relationship that was being made between minority groups and police organizations.

If they didn't violate any laws, then they wouldn't be stopped in the 1st place. How about if Mr. Thomas just stopped when he was suppose to, he'd be alive right now, and probably in jail. It's not racism, it's good police work !!!!! Why don't they show the amount of drugs, guns and criminals that are taken off the streets because of a traffic stop and good police work. It's not the cop that made the minority a criminal, so stop blaming him/her for others criminal activity.

I loved the portion in that report last night where the African-American professional stated "that's because black people are committing most of the crimes"! Can you see the ripples from THAT shock wave???
