Dispatchers are responsible for the documentation and dispatching of emergency and routine requests for police, fire and medical services. Customer service, communication principles, and knowledge of the 911 industry are beneficial. The working atmosphere involves 24-hour day/ 7-day week shift scheduling. The position will require an extensive background investigation including psychological and medical testing. FYI: Raymond Police Officers only make $14.40/hour so I wonder how low the dispatch position must pay.
