New Haven-WTNH, Aug. 28, 2006 10:00 PM) _ A worker at a New Haven gas station who was fed up with being robbed repeatedly took matters into her own hands.
She says when the suspect walked in to rob her around noontime today, she grabbed a hammer and fought him off. Her actions were caught on tape.

It was a split-second decision and employees here hope it will keep the robber from coming back. Police say he has targeted this Shell station three times in a week, but today, he got a little more than he bargained for.
Cashier Nicole Montgomery says,"He told me, he wanted the money in the register, he had a gun, he was going to shoot me."
Cashier Joe DeSenti says,"He got mad, he was like, I'm not playing around, give me your money now so I figured, you know what? Why take the chance."
Both times, there were other customers in the New Haven Shell station on Route 80 but this robber got even more brazen, showing up for an unbelievable third time. This one was in broad daylight. With his picture plastered on the front window and behind the counter, Agnes Bradley recognized the robber immediately. She hit the alarm button and braced for what came next.
Cashier Agnes Bradley says,"And he says, I have a gun, I will shoot you, give me all the money."
But as he gestured, she could see, in fact, he didn't have a gun. She hesitated and he lunged.
Bradley says,"That's what kind of scared me, when he started climbing over, I really feared for my life then."
But instead of backing off she grabbed a hammer on the floor.
"I just went, like that, I just kept on hitting at him."
She says the robber then dropped the register and ran.
Bradley says,"I don't think I'm brave, I don't know what it was, but, you know, it just teed me off, it really teed me off."
It was exactly what the owner had told them not to do but he says after three robberies in eight days they can all understand Agnes' anger.
Richard Ficorilli, Shell Gas Station, says,"We work so hard to make what we do and that someone just comes in off the street and just threatens to take your life over a small amount of money, now this person needs to be found and taken off the streets."
That's exactly what the police hope to do. If you have any information about these robberies, you're asked to call New Haven Police.

Props to her for fighting back. Now if that was me, I would have been fired on the spot for violating company policy. However I look at it like this, You want to hit me? Fine, you'll only get one chance at knocking me out cause I'll fight back.
