That's why they're called "Criminals R Us". Thugs from top to bottom. I hate bringing the cruisers there. The one on Route 9 in Shrewsbury is the best one and good guys there.

I yelled at a guy one time to stop the hammer sales pitch, and he told me that I was insinuating that he was being dishonest. Then he pulled out his military ID card and showed me that he was a Private First Class in the National Guard, and this and that.

So then I showed him my Sergeant First Class ID card, followed by the badge and told him to get bent.

Try going in for an oil change only to find out that they didnt have the right size oil filter for your car so they slap on one that is close to it in size. I was pissed when I found that out that they did it to my "newer" car.

My friend that is a Sergeant in the USMC on inactive duty told me once that the acronym PFC to them is Perfect For Cleaning

I would rather pay for my own oil than get free service from the "J" Team. Any half decent mechanic will be working in a reputable garage. The guys that got a "D" in auto shop are the "J" Team's finest.

Speedee one time drained the transmission fluid on a friends car and forgot to replace it before giving him the car back.... Did not get very far down the street.

Jesus just on Tuesday the "Lube" by me forgot to tighten a car's oil plug and so it left a long ass streak of oil in the middle of the road.

Did it damage the engine, or did you notice in time? The sad part is that they are "supposed" to check if there are any leaks from the plug and filter BEFORE you leave the bay (from underneath the car in the "pit") with a voice loud enough so that the guy up top can clearly hear him/her. I used to deliver the uniforms, carpets, and rags to them. Not the cleanest bunch (or brightest) I've ever seen.

Yeah, we had three guys beat a girl pretty bad in town. We found out who they were, took warrants out on them and they all worked together at a Jiffy lube on the North Shore. When the PD went to lock them up at work in the morning, they had to close the shop down as all three employees were under arrest.

One of their finest employees got pinched of OUI, and was quoted as saying "the next time you bring a cruiser there I'm gonna put sugar in the tank!" Morons.

I would be in favor of us being able to bring the cruiser the troop garage, putting it up on available lift and doing it myself. And getting a DOL of course .

I remember a few years ago I was riding with a Sergeant and as we rolled down a street that ran adjacent to the back lot of a Jiffy Lube when we observed a few of the "fine" employees in a van and quickly exited as they saw us. So we entered the lot and instantly we could smell a strong odor of the "Whacky Tobacky". We ended up arresting (94c) the owner of the vehicle that was also the Store Manager. Shit from top to bottom.

People actualy pay people to do oil changes?

My hunk-o-junk requires full synthetic. 24 If I Buy oil at wal-mart and a factory filter (free crush-washer, woo), or 60ish from Jiffy-no-ass-lube with a generic foam washer...

I was forced to go to one of these in and out's when I first got the car because I needed a new jack, my old one wouldnt work on the new car. There was a fine piece of material working as the clerk / saleswoman. She told me I was due for a rear-end drain and fill. I said "If you can tell me what you are trying to sell me, I'll buy it" "We drain the fluid out of your tranny and re-fill it"... Oil change only....

As as for engine's dying from no oil. I know of two seperate situations, one from jiffy lube, one from pep-boys, where the vehicle ended up w/out oil soon after leaving. They both ran for over 2,000 miles before they had any problems, but they went from "seemingly ok" to seized in about an hour. Both were newer dodges, neither displayed any warning lights. Do you think Jiffy lube did anything for either of these customers? two months later? They were told to pound sand, probably not politely either.

Our head mechanic was surprised when I told him I paid for my own oil changes at the FoMoCo dealer rather than getting the "free" JL thing...I told him "...we've locked-up most of their (JL) employees..."

No JL for my POV or cruiser.

EMT ---
Not everybody owns a house where they can do oil changes themselves. I live in an apartment complex (family housing/ a.k.a. - projects) and the only work allowed on cars in the parking lots is flat change or dead battery jump. If caught, it is violation of the terms stated in the lease.
Trust me, I'd rather change the oil on my car myself and save a lot of money.

I have a feeling, theory is that the staff who perform these changes are ordering the part/s out of stock and stealing the part/s buy not installing the part/s to the real customer MV and installing them on their own time for their friends, family and customers on the side. They make extra money without having to buy the part/s.

Only $24 at my FoMoCo Dealer. Cheaper than Jiffy lube and genuine parts. What more can I ask for?

Luckily it wasn't my car or I probably would of been picked up for AB/DW...
