So I was heading to work one morning last week, I have a freeway drive all the way in (290 eastbound from Worcester to Hudson). I get on the freeway and signal to go over to the middle lane. In the fastlane about 20 car lengths back I notice a state trooper. I look down and i'm doing 72mph. No biggie, I'm not going to get pulled over for this. We go about 1 mile when I catch traffic in my lane, so he passes me. I change lanes behind him and follow him, getting back over to the middle lane when I can.
A woman passes me and goes up behind the trooper, and another car passes before I can get back into the fast lane. I look ahead and I say to myself "Wow, she's following that trooper way too close." Well, apparently the trooper thought the same thing. He hits the brakes and throws on the strobes sending her a warning. Not only did she not hit her brakes, she closed the gap on the trooper. This trooper obviously didn't want to pull her over because he gave her a second warning of brakes and strobes.....no avail, the gap between her and the trooper stayed the same or closed a bit.
At this point I'm thinking "Wow, I'm witnessing the stupidest driver on earth at this very moment." I was amazed she got a second warning. At that moment he swerved hard into the center lane (he was pissed for sure) and she actually hit the gas and went on by him. The person behind her wasn't all that bright either as he attempted the same, but the trooper signaled he was coming over and cut that guy off. On went the strobes and that woman got pulled over (just after Church St. in Northboro).
My question is, how did she avoid the chlorine in the gene pool for so long?
If that trooper reads this, I'd love to hear what her excuse was

I have witnessed a person pull behind a trooper in the fast lane, tailgating the trooper, and then flash their headlights for the trooper to move. He did, waited for them to pass, and pulled in right behind them with emerency lights ablarin'. There is just not enough chlorine.

I've seen it done before. Not the most intelligent move a person can make.

Then there's the guy that passed me on a 2 lane curve, solid yellow line, etc - gets all of the way past and realizes that those funny stripes and letters actually spelled out "police". Slammed on the brakes and pulled back in behind me.
too late....

A few years ago while in a low profile cruiser I had a BMW come up behind me quick flashing its lights. It was night but this is a well lit area. I took my foot off the accelerator so I would go 50 in a 50 zone instead of 60. As he got within 12 feet, he must have read the license plate because he slowed waaaaaay down. I changed lanes and slowed waaay down too. He won't pass. Now I'm going 35 in the right lane and he has to pass, he has no choice. As he creeps by I get in behind him and pull him over.
When I reached the window the first words out of my mouth word...."since you like flashing lights".
He appealed twice. The Judge gave him the full Resp.

A saw similar stupidity on the Pike at the Weston tolls (eastbound). I go through the fastlane booth, but apparently not fast enough for the woman on her cellphone in her BMW, So as I go through the tolls she tries to pass me on the left and nearly slams in a truck then quickly swerves back and she's blocked by a car on the other side. As we go over the hill/bridge I see a Trooper ahead - a fully marked/lightbar State Police Cruiser. So the valley girl in the BMW guns is past me and get right on the troopers ass and must've figured he wasn't going fast enough, so she goes back to the middle lane and guns it. It appeared that the Trooper was in awe, because he slammed on his brakes quickly (kinda like a WTF? check) and then the blues went on and after her he went. He pulled her over about a mile up from where the passing occurred. As I passed them the Trooper was just getting out of the cruiser and I could see the chic was still on her phone but was already holding her "paperwork". She had gig written all over her.

Unfortunately, none of those stories surprise me a bit.
