POLICE OFFICER
The Amherst Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of full-time police officer. Applicants will be required to pass a written test, physical agility test, oral board interviews, polygraph examination, psychological testing, and medical examination with drug testing. Current base pay without police certification is $39,478.

Salary for experienced officers dependent on training. Additional information is available on-line at:

It seems like Amherst hires alot. Is there a reason? Pay? Moral? Location?

Crazy....since they just gave a test in June and I know there are some that have not gone for their PAT test yet.
