Simmons College is looking for a LT. any info on the School, armed/unarmed arrest powers. How difficult to get in etc. all replies welcome

They do have powers of arrest, I am not sure if they are sworn in as sheriffs in addition to being SSPO's. I know they arent armed. I believe they have a cvpi and an explorer as mobile units. Securitas does most of the post work so that can be a good thing leaving the police work for the po's instead of "security" work.
Overall they are transforming it into a respectable PD.
My ex gf went there in 03 and all they did was detex tours and answer phones. So they really have come along way. As far as how hard to get in...I would say just by judging their online resume maker a PITA

Thanks for the info I appreciate it. M ost of the Colleges in the area there are Suffolk County Sheriff's as well as SSPO's I'm out of LE but always looking to dip the toe back in the water, always go back to the first love and all
