How good is Ulowell CJ program? What exactly does a semester consist of? I am thinking about going to Capella if I decide to not go back to New England. Capella offers no midterms or finals and no GRE Needed. I am not looking for the easy way but im not trying to kill myself either. Can any students or Alumni enlighten me on this.

I heard the CJ program is good at Umass Lowell. Plus since you dont want to kill yourself with work I am pretty sure the Master CJ is all online so you can sit back and do it at home. Plus they are fairly easy as far as accepting credits which is very important.

The UMass Lowell CJ program is great. I graduated with a bach and master in CJ from there. i dont know if you are talkin about the undergrad or grad program but it is not the school you want to go to if you want an easy degree. its hard to say what a semester will consist of because it depends how many classes you take and which teachers you have. you can count on midterms, finals, and paper in the uml cj program and you must take the gre. the amount of work for online classes are the same as for regualar classes. id be happy to answer anyother questions u have, good luck!

The Masters of Arts CJ Program at UMass Lowell is a quality program and the faculty is very knowledgeable about their specialities. I finished up my M.A. in CJ at UMass Lowell last year. A minimum of 33 credits is required to graduate. Students may complete a Masters Thesis for 6 credits. The GRE is required for admission and as long as you receive acceptable scores you will be admitted. Although, I think admissions focuses more on professional references and your grades for undergraduate coursework in weighing their decision.

Typically you would take 1-3 courses a semester. I enrolled in some courses online and took some at the college. Just remember that although online courses can provide flexibility and convenience they can also be more demanding. In some cases I think it is more work and you really have to be self-motivated.

I am about half finished with my MA and I took classes at Westfield St prior to Ulowell and they Ulowell classes are a lot harder. Ulowell is not like WENEC/BU or some of the other programs the instructors will not give you a break just because you are on the job.

Wow, that really sucks! I certainly would not want to get my degree from a school where I actually had to work for it and did not get breaks!

Its because of attitudes like this that the Quinn Bill and other education incentives are always under attack!
