On Friday, March 5, 2004 at 11:40 AM the Yarmouth Police Department responded to the Cove Resort—183 Route 28—West Yarmouth for a report of illegal drugs found in a room by an alert employee during a room changeover.
Patrol Officers Andrew O’Malley—Olivier Naas—and George Tsoukalas arrived at the resort and confirmed that the items found—4 clear plastic bags of green leafy substance—was 120 grams of high-grade marijuana packaged for distribution.
The officers encountered the man—Stephen J. Roy—who had rented the room and placed him under arrest. He was subsequently transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters and processed. He is currently being held at headquarters and will be scheduled for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court on Monday, March 8, 2004.
Yarmouth Police Detectives Russell Giammarco and Charles Peterson as well as Patrol Investigator Eric Nuss were called to the scene and conducted a follow-up investigation.
At 5:00 PM—Detectives armed with a search warrant issued by the Barnstable District Court—discovered and seized an additional 3, 900 grams of high-grade marijuana in a second room rented by Mr. Roy.
Total street value of the drugs seized is approximately $41,000.
