Plymouth County Deputy?

(Click here to view the original thread on the MassCops Message Board)

I was snooping around the Plymouth County website and I was I have a question maybe someone could clarify. I know the thread about BCI people said you had to be a CO first, but what about just the Field Services like a deputy? Do you still have to go through the DOC Academy?

Crvtte, the only full time position you can get into right away with the SD is Corrections. Every other job including full time deputy comes later when a position opens up for "bid".

You can apply to be a PT Deputy much like a P/I in a local police dept. You have an interview with the Sheriff and if hired he puts you through the P/I academy if you don't already have it then your eligable for details all over plymouth county and sometimes outside of if say you have a detail at the federal court house in Boston with a PCCF inmate.
