Every street cop should have a patrol rifle...not that it would have helped the guys in the courthouse, but the responding cops may have been able to shut this guy down at the courthouse...

Not armchair quarterbacking...imagine how scary it was for guys trying to fight a rifleman with pistols!

Absolutely true...everybody fawns over their SWAT teams, but in reality its the patrol guys who need the rifle/and or shotguns more, because they're there when the shootout begins..and pay the price for their department's lack of preparedness.

I absolutely agree with you.

Also, think about how it was for the guys at the North Hollywood Bank of America robbery, a few years back. Those suspects had fully automatic AK-47s and Bushmaster rifles with 100 round drum magazines, which were loaded with armor piercing rounds. All the officers had at that time were 9mm handguns and .12 guage buckshot shotguns.

shotguns are wicked deadly...but they are not for everyone! If a person cannot master a rifle, they do not belong on the job...I think more cops could master a rifle than a shotgun...just my $.02.

Well I'm a 100 with a shotgun, so hopefully I'll be ok with an AR15.

I did not find anything awesome about the video. Scary maybe. Other cops and bystanders were hurt and or killed. They were shot. What is awesome about that? I find it more sad and disturbing. As for the sharpshooter on the hood, bad move....

I was just browsing some old threads and found this video. Im not sure about the rifleman on the hood technique.... not really sure what he was thinking but I do know the guy can shoot!
