Do the specifics really matter? It is the same old story - just with new names. Last count was over 60. When you have someone who can't function in the real world and lives out in the sticks in a log cabin with his two dogs - no real family to speak of - and put that unstable person in a role of power that equals nothing but humiliation, control, harassment, and manipulation for those unfortunate enough to be in his reign of terror. He simply took out his miserable life on others and especially those that had intelligence and decency.
Word is that there is someone new set to come in as well as the possibility of being outsourced. In either instance let's hope that who ever it is will come in and throw away the dictatorial policies and procedures written at nauseum by this guy and get back to treating the staff and students like human beings not robots. Also let's hope that there will be some way to re establish the college's reputation with the surrounding towns of Andover and North Andover. Not having the back up of the police in fire, because of his inability to control them, and their feelings of enough is enough, has been a safety concern for all.

Yesterday, the college and I began discussions about my departure from the institution. I am committed to working with supervisors and others in the department on a strategy that will allow for a smooth transition. More information will be shared as it becomes available.

Realizing that the “rumor mill” has already been in motion, I am sure that speculation and rumors will continue. For the sake of the department and the rest of the college community, let’s not feed into the rumor mill. The college and I are working on an amicable separation and smooth transition. The change in department leadership is related to philosophical issues and not performance. I know that the vast majority of my campus colleagues and other community members will agree with me that our department has become a professional, approachable, and effective campus police department. You should all be proud of the positive relationships that you have with members of the college community and of the services that you provide.

My hope is that you welcome my successor and assist him or her with their transition. I am confident that the dedicated men and women of this department will continue to provide the college community with the professional and caring services for which we have become known.

I wish nothing but the best for each of you, the department, and Merrimack College.

Bill

blah blah blah, that is the the letter that the EX CHIEF of Merrimack sent out to his department. The school finally decided to put an end to his tyrannical ways and get a new chief with the backround and experience to do the job right. Seriously, how can you FU*K up at Merrimack,(JUST ASK BILL) most people work there to get experience or to make some extra income for retirement!! I am glad to see that the administration finally got its head out of its as* and did the right thing!

Wish I had been warned so I could have put my boots on. What a bunch of bullshit. Shame on the administration for allowing it to continue for so long.
