Pretty Bad Ass.
Any depts in MA have them yet ? ?

I doubt any depts will have anything taking consumable batteries.

I stil havent found an LED source light with the umph that will be needed for patrol, they're all pretty bland, even the $300 Surefires

Complete garbage for LE work. Only good for illuminating a room. I tried the light outside and it doesn't even touch my surefire or my stinger.

LED technology is still a ways away went it comes to a good LE duty light. Even the 3W or 5W Luxeon Star LEDs do not put out enough lumens.

Yeah I tryed a LED flash light If you look at it its extremely bright, but does not have good range at all. I think my big Streamlight does a fine job along with the little stinger.

If its not rechargeable than its not going to sit well. Most PDs what to have something rechargeable, and thats why you more than likely wont see this light be a smashing success.

Streamlight SL20XP is rechargable, has both traditional and LED lights, comes in metal or poly. This product is great. I use one on duty and have found that in most occasions the LED is completely useless however, there are some times I wouldn't not want to have it available. With a traffic wand, the LED lasts forever and is just as noticable in the dark. Also, once the regular light goes dead from battery drain you can still use the LED to get by for a couple hours until you can get back to the station to recharge or get a replacement. I think we are going to see a lot more of these dual source types of lights in the near future.

LED lights have their place...like a "navigation" light when combined with a traditional light, but I agree, they lack the necessary "oomph" for patrol work; they will not blind or dazzle opponents nor do they throw a focused beam far enough.

Yeah, but if you're looking for a good LED lightbar, let me know. See, I know this little one-man manufacturer, and they look sweet!

p.s. You and your damn flashlights.
