I know their is other threads on this topic but none are recent. I am a police officer in NYC and was contacted for an interview with the BCPD in two weeks. I was wondering what their pay is, what is their schedule, how is ot, do they have details, moral of the department, do they mainly walk a foot post or do you drive around in an RMP??Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking the samething Irish....why leave in the first place?

Posted by: t21port

I am probably not going to leave NYPD but I am from MA and was just curious and keeping the options open. It would be difficult to leave a really busy place and go to a college setting.

If you are not into the college/university setting, then you should consider looking into non-civil service communities.

I was wondering if somebody knows their pay scale(min to max), work schedule and is their a lot of ot??Do they get to do details and are they hard to get???

4 on 2 Off, pay starts around 43000 and tops out at around 52000, plenty of OT

Don't forget that in addition to base pay, usually you, and more importantly your kids will get 100% tuition free at most colleges. That is a serious benefit to think about

Does anybody know how many people they are going to hire??Also is anybody else going for an interview next week??Whats the process after the interview??

Posted by: pickels

They are hiring for two spots that are open.

Posted by: kodiak29

They are probably going to hire 4 from this group of interviews, they recently hired 4 and only one made it to the academy.

Posted by: pickels

Any word on who has been hired for the 4 open spots at BCPD?
