Any truth to the fact that the DOD Police at Westover has been removed and LE turned over to SP's? Not looking to create a rumor, just confirm a story.

I just left DoD in Jnauary becuase the AF Reserve implemented AGR slots. Meaning all 44 Technician slots were converted to active duty. The DoD slots are next, in my opinion. Right now what's happening is the civilian DoD guys have to meet active duty standards. Some are, and the ones who can no longer due to age, or medical issues are all of a sudden not passing their QC's. So they get decertified. If a DoD guy gets decertified three times he can lose his/her job. My OPINION is that is what Westover AGR's in charge are trying to do to these guys. It's too bad too cuz we had a great bunch of guys who all got along. Once active duty stepped in you could almost see that wall go up. I miss it there, and I miss the pay, but I don't miss the active duty mentality.

P.S. I hope it doesn't turn out that way for those guys. Any Westover guys out there drop me a line and say hey

It's happening a Norfolk Naval Air Stattion as well. I don't understand it. These DoD jobs were created by Congress in, 1974, I beleive, to give the guys coming home from Vietnam jobs. I know with AFRC they feel they can crap on these guys and do whatwever they want with them. Unfortunately they have a week union. IBPO 556, can't get involved in federal issues like pay. Not the unions fault. It's just the way things are set up. It's between a rock and a hard spot for DoD cops.

I work at Otis and 2 of our guys going to Westover as AGR, I guess they have a boat load of position there

Yeah, they converted 44 or 45 ART's to AGR and were brininging guys in from everywhere. We had a husband and wife team from texas, guys from florida, and there's still openings. They're telling these kids they won't be deployed, but you can't convince me that if AFRC see's 40-60 guys justing sitting around at westover that they're not going to deploy them if need be.
