Gov. Mitt Romney SP Detail

Well I can tell you that Romney is running for President. I took the USAir shuttle to NY Tuesday and who walks by me to sit in coach class but the man himself. I guess it wouldn't look too good if he went first class in front of us ham and eggers.

There were two guys who accompanied him- one looked like an aide the other was clearly his protection (Trooper). I know he was carrying because he pulled the ticket agent aside and boarded before everyone else.

I'm curious, how are the Troopers assigned to this detail compensated? By that I mean, if the Trooper provided overnight protection in NY would he be entitled to OT or do they work in 24 hour shifts or something? I obviously do not want to know about sensitive information regarding his protection, I am just curious about the SP detail itself which, I assume it is a coveted assignment.

I am curious more about what authority the trooper has out of state????

Romney sucked as a Governor why would he run for President?

Prolly the same authority that any on duty police officer has when out of state on official business.

Maybe it was not a Statie? Could have been secret service, FAM, CMPSA, Bristol County Sherriff...

Doesn't NEMLEC provide security for the Governor?
