i see that holy cross is hiring, can someone fill me in on the department? do they carry, if what? what is the pay, things like this.

Brother, nice pay if you don't want to do anything. They do not carry either a gun nor baton. They do carry OC, and you are allowed to carry handcuffs (but be advised that you may be the only one on a shift with a pair and don't ever expect to use them even if you are being assaulted ). And you are asked many times to see nothing.

I went through the SSPO academy with a couple of guys from there. From the sounds of it, it's pretty bad. You may want to find out a little more about their scheduling. No set days off. Makes it difficult to have a personal life. Sinker seems to have summed it up perfectly.
