MMA NEVER SENDS OFFICERS TO FULL-TIME ACADEMY. THEY MAY GET GO TO SSPO ACADEMY, MAYBE. THEY ARE NOT ARMED AND DON'T HAVE A LOT OF RESPONSIBLITITY. IT'S BASICALLY A SECURITY POSITION, THEY HAVE NO REAL POLICE POWERS.

I think nightcoppa was sent to the academy by them. Any input on why they don't send anyone to the academy anymore nightcoppa?

All in all though, it's not a bad place to get your feet wet and at least start building the resume. Beautiful campus, and the local Bourne PO's are top notch. However, there is virtually no "Police work" to be done. Wouldn't be a bad place to coast before retirement. Just take it for what it's worth.

Why do some State College PD's send their Officer's to SSPO and some to F/T? Don't they all do the same job?

Posted by: SSPO#11

Southside........we all do the same job. Some are busier than others but the job is essentially the same across all State and Community Colleges. Private Colleges go from departments as squared away as Boston University to others that are less than desireable to be generous.

Some departments have the resources to send people to the full-time academy. Other departments will not send their officers to the F/T because as soon as people get the academy they will be gone with the wind to a better department.

I missed a bunch of stuff......but I am too tired to talk anymore.

Mass Maritime = State Security Guard

Yeah, I am pretty good aren't I. Well Barney Frank always was my idle!!
Don't be pissed just because you're trespassed from the campus and most of the employee's have restraining orders against you KMF. I respectfully disagree about using as a stepping stone though. When your just starting out, unfortunately sometimes you have to take jobs in the less than desirable places to get your feet wet. I don't think it is run like it was before when a certain other person ran it. The guy in charge now is supposedly a real straight shooter. In other words the opposite of you, you Jimmy Denino wannbe.
