Hey all,
Just a general question I have. What is the starting salary for a guy in the academy? Probation is like 9 months also isn't it? How often are there pay raises?
I'm actually making really good money in what I'm doing now but I can't sit in an office for the next 20 years. I have a pre screening coming up.

probation is one year. there are as many starting salaries as there are departments. Some have plenty of overtime and details. You can start out making 30G or 60G depending on how much you want to work.

Probation is 9 months from your academy start date. Pay is $1516.15 bi-weekly, topping out at about $60,000 after 7 years. Depending on where you get assigned, there is alot of overtime available. Don't forget too that there hasn't been a contract for 2 years, so these numbers will slightly change for the better.
