Need Help From A Mass State Trooper!!!!

I have a question for any State Trooper in Massachusetts.
I live in an apartment complex and while I was at work today ( using a rental car ) the property Managers had a Handicap sign put in the spot where my car was parked.
The sign states that violaters will be towed.
Can they actually put a handicap sign in front of a car that is already parked there?
I parked the car at about 10:30am today and the sign went up appx 3:30pm.
It should be noted that the sign is attached to a cone.
Thank you for reading and helping if you can.

You don't need a trooper to tell you that's nonsense.
Did they tow your car?
What did the property manager have to say?
Did you think to take a picture of the "sign on a cone"? (read as PORTABLE)

Was the spot ever a handicap spot?

Maybe they are putting them there, because it's going to be painted and made permanent soon, and they want the tennants to get use to it?

Can you have other tennants back you up that it's never been a HP spot before?

why only a state trooper? Generally cities or towns patrol apartment complexes, although some areas troopers do to. But any cop can help you.

Genearally apartment complexes have their own rules and regulations. Police can enforce handicapped spots and fire lanes but condo associations often enforce their lots too. I know in our town the condo association (parking nazis) tag alot of cars and threaten to tow them. They often say that the police are enforcing it because they don't have the balls to stand up on their own and they try to make us look like the bad guys. We often could care less.
Talk to the property manager and take the advice of the previous post.

The spot was never a handicap spot. I unfortunately was at work at the time and got lucky enough that I was able to get someone to move the car for me -- better yet that the car moved since something is broken in the suspension. The person in question that is using the spot does have medical issues -- but I didnt see a placard on his windshield. I have no problem moving over a spot if someone needs it because of medical issues, what bothers me is that no one called my apartment to ask if the car could be moved. Plus, when I did get a hold of the property manager, I asked if the head of Maintance (sp) to move it and they never bothered to stop over.
the reason that I am so pissed is that if my disabled mother couldn't find someone to move it, the odds are that the local PD would have towed it. they have been in this lot a lot recently -- why I have no idea -- and they are not a happy department it seems ( springfield )

sorry, didnt mean to offend anyone
I put it up there as state trooper to get the attention of everyone quickly before I go to the Property Managers office on Monday. I just basically need to know if it was legal for them to put it in a spot that is NOT normally handicap and if there is a car already parked there.
Essentially -- this Irishman is pissed off somethin fierce -- which isn't good since I have a PAT at 8am and a written at 1pm -- hence the rental.

I know all about the anger when non-handicapped people take the HP spots- I am permanently disabled, and have a placard.

The parent of one of my daughters' friends is wheelchair bound, his demeanor is much more relaxed, but it totally ticks me off!

At one of my sons school, CONTINUOUSLY, one of Brockton's finest parks her black SUV in the HP spots at the school to drop her little prince off, then drives directly to the PD. ( I know this, because it's on my way home)

I'm soooo tempted...... but have bigger fish to fry......

If it was attached to a cone then why didnt you just move it over one spot or take the cone?

I wasnt home at the time that it was put in front of my car. I was using a rental car since I had a PAT test today -- which I managed to fail due to freeze burned lungs ( thats what the officer said happened ). the best part is that the person the cone was put in for doesnt have a HP plate or placard -- i checked this morning before I went to the PAT.

Why thank you, I am happy I was able to help make it possible

Well if it was on a cone, rather than move it to another spot you should have just picked it up and threw it in your trunk.

got me, thats what the officer said it was.
all i know is that i had an asthma attack halfway through the run -- and like an idiot i forgot my inhaler --, but said screw it and tried to continue the run. what the officer said was since i was trying to get oxygen into my system as fast as i could, and that the temp was 22 degrees out, i got too much cold air into them and basically freezed them up. when he put me in the back of the cruiser to warm up, it made it worse, it felt as if my lungs were on fire from the warm air.
whether the freeze burn term was his only, i have no clue.
all i know is that i still cant breathe and am coughing alot.
ohh well, ill get to the docs one of these days.

aahhh, i see. when is ur make up test? run out side more often. don't run on a treadmill. climatize bro, climatize.

Posted by: tazoez

no make up test
but there is always state police exam for NH, CT, and MA when they have one.
and yea, LOL, i think that was my issue -- i was using an in-door track cause it is freezing outside -- opps

Why won't they give you a make up test.

even though it was medically related, it stated in the forms -- wavier i believe -- that there is only one shot at this. I could re-take it when they offer the exam at a future date.
and just for all that are wondering -- I went to docs today since I still cannot breathe well.
and it is respritory related, so far all they know is that I sound congested and that the breathing treatment didnt help, infact it made the pain in my chest worse. so I have to wait for the X-Rays to come back to find out what is going on. hopefully it's good news cause I could use some for once.
