Whatever you do, do not join up with the "Laborer's" Union. Suffolk University Police signed up with them, in hopes that the Laborer's power would help them get firearms + deputy sheriffs powers. This was back in 2000. Last time I checked the SUPD is still patrolling downtown Boston w/out firearms and without deputy sheriff's powers. The laborer's gladly take their money every week, but have not delivered what they promised. The SUPD are sitting ducks out there. Their uniforms are very similar to Boston and they could easily be mistaken as a BPD Officer. There is a huge paper trail in regards to SUPD approaching President Sargent, VP Flannery and the Trustees on the issues mentioned above. Can you say lawsuit if and when one of the SUPD Officers is seriously injured or killed because they do not have the tools that they need?
