A 15-year-old allegedly knocked a Fort Lauderdale police officer unconscious Tuesday during an altercation.
Officer Maggie Rose was attempting to apprehend the teen drug suspect along Northwest 19th Avenue when he punched her, police said.
Jordan Christian ran off but was eventually arrested after his mother marched him to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department to turn himself in.
The teen was charged with felony battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.
Rose, an 8-year veteran with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, was treated for her injuries at Holy Cross Hospital.
