No, this is not an April Fools joke. I figured to post it in a new thread since the other 79th threads are turning ugly...again. Just found out this info from someone doing backgrounds. Anybody heard anything different?

Keep running, get your finances in order, prepare your family.

You'll probably get better at it as time progresses.

April 3rd is a Monday......

Posted by: Rock

And April 4th is a Tuesday....

Posted by: Mikey682

I just heard that April 5th is actually a Wednesday, but a rumors a rumor.

Posted by: USMCTrooper

I heard the 79th Day 1was 1st for 95ers then ACLU filed a MOU with the MSP - GHQ for the SPA so a TDY went out ASAP so 96ers are Day 1 on 3rd in the 79th.

Madam Zelda read my tea leaves and said it wouldn't be before the 15th.

Posted by: tazoez

That's odd, my crystal ball said that it would be the 13th. I'll have to double check with the Psychic Hotline to see how bad I am off.

Posted by: mtc

Oh Gawd.... another class.... I still haven't finished busting the stones of the last one!

Posted by: NegroRotary

go 79th!

Posted by: josuff

I got accepted to the 79th RTT that starts APRIL 3. Does anyone know what I should expect in the academy? Such as the Training itself.

Im never been through the academy and waiting for an exam so I can try. The best advice I can give -- told to me by a trooper -- is to not have any preconceived notions about anything. Go there, keep your mouth shut unless a DI asks you something first and keep out of trouble -- and do exactly what they say / ask of you.

Maybe he should get advice from someone who has actually been through an academy. Any troopers out there that can help him?

Posted by: Killjoy

Here's some advice, if you can't find an item on the list, just replace it with whatever you feel is an appropriate substitute.....the DI's won't mind....heh heh heh

Posted by: Rock

Hey Kiljoy, if you want to go down that road we can start a whole new thread of "Advice for the 79th".

Since there will be much indoor running and sweating, Doo-Rags will be allowed during PT

Posted by: 78thrifleman

Due to the strenuous PT, trainees are encouraged to take more than one dessert in order to maintain a healthy weight. Also, foot rubs will be offered on a nightly basis during personal time.

Posted by: USMCMP5811

Congical visits are also allowed durring personal time.

Posted by: Rock

Does "Buddy" have a last name or initial? I just want to wish him well. I'm sure he is going to "RULE!" that place. Tell him to really shine on day one....make sure he expresses his desire to lead.

GOOD LUCK BUDDY!!!!
