Cambridge is a great department for pay & benefits, I'm very surprised they're taking laterals.

This will be the 3rd class of Lat's in the past year half.
This class should make about 25 officers total.

Yeah, I think they had 9 last year.

Suprising about the laterals, they must really need people. I had heard that they were not going to take anymore laterals, they were going to go back to new hires.

When you say this class, what do you mean? Laterals don't have to go through the academy again, is this for city bi-laws and departmental workings...

You have to do a 2 week in-house ( no Big thing). They just consider you a "class", thats all.

They don't call it the "People's Republic" for nothing.

sulldog6, thanks for the info. Do you work for Cambridge PD? Also, do you know if those were lateral interviews, or off of the list?

Thanks

Does anyone know if Cambridge hired yet?

Posted by: mpdcam

No they haven't. There are 10 applicants going for 5 spots. If your friend has not been interviewed yet, then he won't be. They were looking to hire the beginning of May.
