With all the news stories about the Mahamed cartoons I was woundering what the big deal was. I figured it must be realy bad if the muslims were threatening to start chopping heads again and burning buildings. None of the news papers or news channels would show them as they were afraid to offend some terrorist. Well I am not afraid to offend anyone so here are a few of my favorites.

How nice of you to label all Muslims terrorists and to continue to spread the pictures around which clearly go against and offend specifically Muslims. I most definitely don't agree with how they are responding to the issue but don't go around making it even worse than it already is.

The pictures were removed, however discussion may continue for now (I saved them in case Gil doesn't care if they are up and will add back if ok'd)

Too bad so sad for the muslim terrorists. Denmark is the land of porn and legos, I'm sure they'll be fine.

Wow. were do I start with this one. First of all I never said all Muslims were Terrorist, but lets face it all member of al-Qaeda, Hamas, PLO,Abu Nidal Organization (ANO),Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG),Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, Ansar Al-Islam (AL), Armed Islamic Group (GIA), Jaish-e-Mohammed ,Asbat al-Ansar,Black September ,Egyptian Islamic Jihad,Al-Jihad, Hizballah are Muslims. They are the ones burning buildings and chopping peoples heads off blowing themselves up in homicide bomb attacks.

The last time I checked we had something in this country called free speech. The pics that I posted were posted for educational purposes so that people could see for them selves what all the riotsand buildings being burned were all about. Do you know what the "peaceful" protesters were yelling in london today? I will tell you. Europe will have its own 9/11 soon and chanting Usama.

In case anyone wants to see the pics that were deleted here is the link. Hopefully it will not be deleted by the thought police! ! ! !

Do you know what offends most muslims the most.....US... To paraphrase WEB Griffin, they are offended because they're living five hundred years in the past. They used to be the center of the civilized world, with muslim scientists being some of the most advanced in the world. Our number system is based on the arabic numeral system. But nowadays, they are irrelevant, without their oil, no one would care about them. Their cities only run because of western engineering and architecture. They fly in western airplanes and drive in western cars. They listen to western music on western designed ipods. They work on western computers run with western software. This is not the way it was supposed to be for God's "chosen people". Part of their problem is their lack of education; women aren't allowed to have educations and men simply study the Koran....they are not equipped to deal with the 21st century. Radicals manifest their rage by striking out at anything thought to be infidel (western). Whether or not we did everything the radicals demanded there would still a seething hatred from the radical muslim world.

It's like an entire culture of "that kid who got beat up all the time in grade school." Buncha cry-babies and whackos. Wahh wahh, they're making fun of us...let's bomb them! Wahhhh wahhhh wahhhhh!!

I commend Denmark for refusing to apologize and continuing to express themselves. Right on!

I liked the comics....F*#@ them if they don't have a sense of humor!!!

Posted by: Sniper

If I understood it correctly............. These people are not pissed at the cartoons as far as the message or joke they are conveying. In their religion, it is a sin/disrespectful to depict any images of Muhammads face. No?

Posted by: SOT

Man what a messed up thing...now we have a content nanny. Sort of like a trunk sargent but worse.
Thanks for putting up the link...I had not seen them either.

Posted by: SOT

Depends on which version of their religion you subscribe to. Technically no depection of ANY relegious figures because it fosters idolity. Some think that certain figures can be depicted...but then again it's a relegion of peace...so the killings and the burnings fit right in, right?

let's not forget that the liberal Democrats said it was just fine for thousands of OUR tax dollars to be spent for some idiot to urinate in a jar and then take a picture of the Crucifix dunked in it !! (Maplethorp)
Remember how the Democrats whined that it was the First Ammendment right of the creator of "Piss Christ" to insult Christians like that AND be paid for "his work" with National Endowment for the Arts funds (ie: your tax dollars - money you could have spent on a bill or to buy a child or other loved one a gift)... And let's not forget how the Democrats supported YOUR tax dollars being spent for some left wing liberal "artist" to spread feces on a picture of the Virgin Mary.. Facts are facts - look it up. Yet, they whine about a cartoonist's depiction of some radical Islamist who supports the beheading of decent, honorable people... ???!!! I'm going from unenrolled to Republican as soon as I can get to City Hall tomorrow. Democrats suck !!

Fresh rioting in cartoon protests

KABUL, Afghanistan -- Rioters have clashed with police and NATO peacekeepers during demonstrations in Afghanistan against the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed, officials and witnesses said.

Tuesday's riots came as angry protests spread across Asia and Danish citizens were urged to leave Indonesia. On Monday, protests in Afghanistan and Somalia turned deadly.

The cartoons first appeared in a Danish newspaper and have been reprinted in several other papers in Europe, Asia, the United States and the Middle East. Islam forbids depictions of Mohammed.

In the Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday, police beat stone-throwing protesters with batons outside the Danish diplomatic mission office, The Associated Press reported.

Similar clashes occurred near the offices of the World Bank in Kabul. Police arrested several people, many of whom were injured, AP said.

In the northwest city of Maymana, Norwegian troops used tear gas to disburse protesters outside their base, Squadron Leader Annie Gibson-Sexton, a spokesman for the International Security Assistance Force, told AP.

About 200 protesters threw stones at the base, police officer Abdul Qadier said. Two women passers-by were hurt when they were hit by stones. They were taken to hospital, along with several of the demonstrators who were affected by tear gas, he told AP.

In the western city of Herat, about 3,000 protesters threw stones at government buildings and an Italian peacekeeping base, witness Faridoon Pooyaa told AP.

Police fired warning shots to prevent the demonstrators from entering the buildings and the base, provincial administrator Asiluddin Jami said.

On Monday, two protesters were killed and 13 others injured when Afghan police fired on about 2,000 protesters who tried to enter Bagram Airbase, a U.S. base north of Kabul, AP reported.

In the Afghan city of Mihtarlam, two protesters were killed and three others injured when police fired on a crowd after a man fired shots and others threw stones and knives, according to the AP. (Watch as police and rioters clash -- 2:25)

In Lagman, Afghanistan, one protester was killed and four people were wounded, two of them police, when clashes broke out between protesters and police, provincial governor Shah Mahmoud Safi said.

Also Monday, a stampede during a protest in the east African nation of Somalia killed a teenager, AP reported. (Full story)

Other protests Monday took place in Amman, Tel Aviv, Gaza, Indian-controlled Kashmir, the Indian capital of New Delhi and Kut, a city in southern Iraq where about 5,000 people congregated, burned flags and burned an effigy of the Danish prime minister.

On Tuesday, in the northern Pakistani city of Peshawar, more than 6,000 people demonstrated, chanting slogans against European nations and demanding justice, police said.

The protest was led by the Chief Minister of North West Frontier Province, Mohammad Akram Khan Durani, and several other provincial ministers.

"Hang the man who insulted the prophet," some Pakistani protesters shouted.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has issued a statement condemning the publication of the cartoons and expressing concern about controversy.

In the southern Philippines, hundreds of Muslims burned a Danish flag.

And in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim nation, rallies were held in at least four cities Tuesday. Rock-throwing demonstrators have attacked Denmark's diplomatic missions in the sprawling country on a near daily basis.

"The Foreign Ministry recommends that Danes already in Indonesia leave and that those interested in coming postpone their plans," said Niels Erik Anderson, Denmark's ambassador to Indonesia.

Malaysia's prime minister slammed the foreign media and a local daily on Tuesday for running the drawings, one of which shows Mohammed wearing a turban shaped as a bomb.

Iran said it was cutting off all trade with Denmark, and Tehran withdrew its ambassador to Denmark in response. (Full story)

Demonstrators in the Iranian capital protested outside the Danish Consulate and the Austrian Embassy, tossing Molotov cocktails at the buildings. Austria currently serves as president of the European Union. (Full story)

Arrest warrants

The cartoons of Mohammed first appeared in a Danish paper Jyllands-Posten in September. The paper said it had asked cartoonists to draw the pictures because the media was censoring itself over Muslim issues.

Islam forbids depictions of Mohammed and many Muslims were furious at the drawings, one of which shows the religious figure wearing a turban shaped like a bomb.

Some other European papers later published some of the cartoons, as a way of covering the controversy and also, some papers said, as a matter of freedom of expression

In Paris, France Soir -- a newspaper that published the cartoons -- was evacuated for nearly three hours Monday after receiving a bomb threat.

Two small weekly Jordanian newspapers also reprinted the cartoons and, according to Jordan's Petra News Agency, arrest warrants were issued for the editors-in-chief.

The Danish paper issued an apology in late January after weeks of quieter expressions of outrage and diplomatic efforts to avoid the widespread violence.

The Danish government says it does not control what is in the country's newspapers and that courts will determine whether the newspaper that originally published the cartoons is guilty of blasphemy.

The government has also expressed apologies for the offending drawings. (Danes feel threatened)

CNN has chosen to not show the cartoons out of respect for Islam.

Correct, it is against their religion to have a depiction of Muhammad made.

I removed the direct pictures for this reason and left it up to Gil to decide what he wants to do. Obviously, these are causing many problems in other parts of the world. This site, being a police site, and as the Crook incidents have shown, are connected to Gil's name and his department can be found. So while most everyone can post with some anonymity, Gil is connected and someone could do something screwy or complain.

Hot link, I'm fine with that, I am not offended by them or their implications. I just put myself in his place and wouldn't want my name attached to something that is causing such a large uproar, and specifically hosting the images.

Rusty if you have a problem PM Gil

Does anyone think that the day will ever come that we stop apologizing to everyone for being the most powerful country in the history of the world? We got this far by standing on the blood soaked shoulders of generations far greater than ours. My how we have let them down.

Just so I get this straight if Sylvester and I start our own religion and we interpret the bible as prohibiting the worshiping of other prophets, then we can in turn not only protest the existence of other religions but their literary works as well to include their cartoons? Look at all the people wringing their hands trying to justify the violence in response to a caricature. I MYSELF WAS OFFENDED BY THE SIGHT OF AMERICANS JUMPING TO THEIR DEATHS FROM THE TWIN TOWERS. Like it or not a large portion of a major world religion has declared you and I unfit to walk upon this planet. It is about time we stopped playing semantics and dealt with it. Political correctness KILLS.

Posted by: underdod47

The picture that said it all for me was the Muslim Terrorist holding the sign reading R I P Freedom.... and he may be right. Where in the American media have you seen the cartoons, they offend Muslims so they don't show them...The Book of Daniel offends Christians so it gets the cover of T.V. Guide hypocrisy in the name of the first amendment and censorship R I P Freedom indeed

Posted by: SOT

There's a real problem if a cartoon leads to death and rioting, and it's not with the cartoon or the message...it's with the people that elevate it to violence....it's THAT SIMPLE.

Here are several Muslim drawings of the Prophet Mohammed. As in drawn by members of the Muslim relgion over 1000 years ago.

lol funny one RPD.... yes we need moderators there is no doubt about that but....

As far as the Mohamed Cartoons, I don't have a problem with them. There are plenty of cartoons out there and at some point just about every religion was at one time or another the subject of a questionable cartoon. Please put the pics back when you get a chance.

Thank you for showing the cartoons. As soon as we are living in fear of offending a terrorist, the terrorists have changed our lives or our freedom of speech, they've won a small victory.

All I know is that if the rioting muslims really believed in Allah, then they would stop rioting and let Allah deal the judgement later on. These violent reactions just prove that they have no faith in their own god. If christians wigged out everytime a card carrying ACLU/liberal/commie mocked Christ or Mary, the world would be in shambles.

The "I Give a Shit Meter" is where???? Ah yes... none

Posted by: dcs2244

How nice that the Crvtte65 unit can define what speech is free, and which isn't. Perhaps "Piss Christ", "Fecal Mary", "The Last Temptation of Christ" are "free speech". But any criticism of "Mohammedism" is naughty and forbidden, lest we offend the adherents of that cult. That's right, cult, not a religion, but an anti-Christ, satan worshipping collection of psychopaths and other degenerates. They are the "heroic" killers of women and children. Thank you, Crvtte65, we now know who's team you're on. Let's end it all and jump from the "twin towers" of our minds...and leave the world to satan.

For all you "back-slid" folks, Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the light. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14, 6-7). He did not say that there would be another "prophet" after him to further explain things. There was no reason for Mohammed, except for satanic corruption. Jesus is "The Christ". Messiah, that is...Son of God...Savior of mankind. Mohammed is allegedly a prophet, not the Christ...DO THE MATH.

For those of you without understanding of the "beast": Shiites alow depictions of Mohammed, Sunnis do not.

Mohammed is the prophet of satan. Stop apologizing for these citizens'...some are misled...the rest are wilful servants of "Old Scratch". These satanic creatures will use any excuse to "ramp-up" the violence...

Shame on you, Crvtte65, for wilfully serving the forces of PC.

By the way, Viper rules, Corvette drools...

Again... read my reasoning. I personally don't care what gets posted as I do feel free speach is incredibly important. I, however, may not agree with some stuff, like the examples of the Black Panther cartoons from a few months ago, but I still think it should be allowed. Taking them off was apparently too precautious for Gil (meaning he doesn't care either) but as his department is/has been known people could finger him as promoting or whatever. I have only edited content a few times, mainly for putting personal information of someone etc. Also note that I added the 4th picture that was from the original post as I said I would if ok'd by Gil.

The main section of the post I didn't agree with personally was I interpreted his post to say all Muslims are terrorists. That had no impact on my editing out the pictures. The pictures were based on the info above.

Cartoon Protesters Direct Anger at U.S.

QALAT, Afghanistan (AP) - Police killed four people Wednesday as Afghans enraged over drawings of the Prophet Muhammad marched on a U.S. military base in a volatile southern province, directing their anger not against Europe but America.

The U.S. base was targeted because the United States "is the leader of Europe and the leading infidel in the world," said Sher Mohammed, a 40-year-old farmer who suffered a gunshot wound while taking part in the demonstration in the city of Qalat.

"They are all the enemy of Islam. They are occupiers in our country and must be driven out," Mohammed said.

Wednesday's violence began when hundreds of protesters tried to storm the U.S. base, said Ghulam Nabi Malakhail, a provincial police chief. When warning shots failed to deter them, police shot into the crowd, killing four and wounding 11, he said.

Flying rocks injured eight police and one Afghan soldier, he said.

Two Pakistanis arrested for allegedly firing at police were being questioned to see whether they were linked to al-Qaida, Malakhail said. Some officials accuse al-Qaida of inciting three days of bloody riots across Afghanistan that have left 11 dead.

Protesters also burned three fuel tankers waiting to deliver gasoline to the base, said Malakhail. He said U.S. troops fired warning shots into the air.

U.S. military spokesman Col. James Yonts said the American forces fired flares above the crowd, but he said it was not clear whether they fired their weapons.

Muslims around the world have demonstrated over the images - including one depicting the prophet wearing a turban shaped as a bomb - printed in Western media. Islam is interpreted to forbid any illustrations of the prophet.

In Baghdad, Iraq's top Shiite political leader criticized attacks on foreign embassies by Muslims.

"We value and appreciate peaceful Islamic protests," said Abdul Aziz al-Hakim. "But we are against the idea of attacking embassies and other official sites."

In the West Bank, about 300 Palestinians overpowered a Palestinian police detail and attacked an international observer mission in the city of Hebron.

Sixty members of the mission were inside, said Gunhild Forselv, spokeswoman for the Temporary International Presence in Hebron. A few protesters forced their way in, where unarmed observers waved clubs in an attempt to drive them off. Police reinforcements eventually restored order.

Muslims also demonstrated in Indian-controlled Kashmir, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and in Turkey.

In Washington, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice accused Iran and Syria of instigating protests in their countries, and President Bush called upon governments to stop the violence and protect the lives of diplomats overseas.

The United States and other countries were looking into whether extremist groups may be inciting protesters to riot, said Yonts, the U.S. spokesman in Afghanistan.

Iranian vice president Isfandiar Rahim Mashaee rejected Rice's assertion that Iran was inflaming Muslim anger over the cartoons. "That is 100 percent a lie," Mashaee said in Jakarta, Indonesia. "It is without attribution."

Zahor Afghan, editor for Erada, Afghanistan's most respected newspaper, said the riots in his country have surprised him.

"No media in Afghanistan has published or broadcast pictures of these cartoons. The radio has been reporting on it, but there are definitely people using this to incite violence against the presence of foreigners in Afghanistan," he said.

Afghans who rioted Wednesday said they heard about the cartoons on the radio but none questioned had seen printed versions.

"The radio is talking about them all the time. Everybody heard about them this way," said 28-year-old shopkeeper Ramatullah, who uses only name.

Wednesday's riot erupted despite an appeal from Afghanistan's top Islamic organization, the Ulama Council, for an end to the violence.

"Islam says it's all right to demonstrate but not to resort to violence. This must stop," senior cleric Mohammed Usman told The Associated Press. "We condemn the cartoons but this does not justify violence. These rioters are defaming the name of Islam." In France, President Jacques Chirac asked media to avoid offending religious beliefs as another French newspaper reprinted the caricatures. The satirical French weekly Charlie-Hebdo also printed a new drawing under the headline "Muhammad Overwhelmed by the Fundamentalists" that showed the prophet with his head in his hands, remarking, "It's hard to be loved by idiots."

We are the leader of Europe? The girls are good and the vacation spots are nice. Other than that, the European governments are a major thorn in America's butt. They call themselves our allies, but the Italians secretly sell us out at the Mog '93. The Axis of Greed & Ego (Russia, Germany, and France) make semi-secret economic and arms deals with our enemies and prevent anything useful from happening at the UN. Americans have more in common with the average muslim, as far as morality and values are concerned, than with the Socialist Republic of Europe.
