Anyone have any hiring news on the CBP? I took the test almost 2 years ago, and I am getting kind of pissed off that the last thing I got was almost a year ago asking to check off a box if I was still interested in the job. I put down Anywhere on the list too. Since that time the CASS system on the site has been removed so I can't check my status. Does anyone know what is taking so long? I scored higher than a buddy of mine who is on CBP down south. Granted, he took the test a year before I did, but he was hired within a year. Here I am on my last year of list eligibility. Does anyone know a # I can call? Are they hiring soon? I know my buddy was saying they got 4 or 5 news guys out of FLETC a few weeks ago. I am just sick of waiting without any type of word. Hell Civil Service has faster service.

CBP are hiring 700 to 1000 new agents this year alone. they have been testing around here as well. a few from Devens took the test in Worcester as well in Boston. You can access the test from the website, you should just retake it. Its one of the hardest test I've ever taken that damm "ability to learn a foreign language" test is a killer.

Okay, so answer this... I took the test 2 years ago. I heard that they are sending out an annoucment on April 7th for vacancies and are expecting 25,000 applications. Will my test scores...which acccording to paperwork they are valid for 1 more year...get me on or do I have to retake the test?

I already took the damn test 2 years ago...Still waiting for a call, all I get is paperwork asking if I am still interested and when I fill that out and send it in I get stuff back saying, thank you for your interest we will contact you soon.

Lawman retake the test. go to the website and sign up again. the word on the street is 15,000 to 20,000 new agents within the next few years. School is not required, but it cant hurt either. Study the study guide that is sent with your notice to appear. Good luck bro !!

So close now, passed everything, all that's left is the background. Waiting for my background agent to contact me to set up stuff. Saw the pay rates, not that enticing bt it's federal LE, one step closer to US Marshal I guess.
