Looking for a Glock 23 for off-duty carry. Thanks.

If you really are in the VA area, just get it at LE prices from your local police supply place. Everyone in MA (including LE) has to jump thru hoops to buy Glocks here . . . our AG thinks that they are "unsafe", except for active duty LE!

Just feeling out the area for a used 23. I'm in Boston frequently. I know where I can get one new at a dealer in Quantico, if I need to. That's probably what I'll end up doing, but I have no "immediate" need for this weapon. Posting a quick topic on this board to see what's out there is simple enough, and merely an added source of intelligence.

Even for LEOs, it is a Federal Felony to buy a handgun out of state, ONLY exceptions are:

- You hold an FFL (dealer type in this case),
- You order on Department letterhead and have it shipped to your Department,
- You inherit it from a deceased party's estate.

Since most handguns are UNAVAILABLE for consumer purchase in MA, the prices here are inflated due to very limited supply compared to high demand. Bottom line is, even if it were legal, you'd pay a higher price here than in your home-state (only exception is buying new at LE prices from any dealer should be the same in any state).

Interstate Arms. The biggest mistake most police make in buying a firearm is buying "retail".
www.interstatearms.com GLock distributor for the NE and will sell directly to LE with ID.
You can have the gun transfered to your department or to a local dealer or pick it up there (sometimes).

Now that is a good piece of information. Not only for my 23 but for many other weapons. I'll be passing that on to some of my brothers/sisters. It's too bad they sold out of pre-owned 23's but I'll check back at a later time....or I might just pick up a new one at their cheap $390 price. Thanks for the information.

Yeah I have forms for FET out (cheaper still as there's no sporting tax on duty guns), they are online and work with all dealers if the dealer knows what's what.

Here's a link to the forms and if you have question just ask.
I actually have a bunch of glocks coming in from Idaho 50 or so very soon and 23's but they are trade in's and I'm wholesaling them out to dealers.

BUT there are tons out there. BUT if LEO and FET out NEW is the way to go and it's CHEAPER most of the time and GEN III.
