Sgt./Lt. Exam C.O. Experience points Q?

(Click here to view the original thread on the MassCops Message Board)

I'm wondering if anyone has successfully used Dept. of Correction experience and been able to apply it to their Sgt./Lt. Exam experience points. I recently received my score and noticed they did not give me credit for DOC experience. Any thoughts? Ideas?

the only experience civil service will give you is for "police" experience.

You could try getting it in category 5 - if they give something to cadets (which could include time they spend watching prisoners) they should give something to you.

That is not true. They give you experience points based on certain classes (such as T for T, teaching classes (CPR, First Aid, Firearms, etc.), college experience, and other qualifications. It is only a small percentage that is figured out with a formula that will count as your experience which is then weighted against your written score to give you your final score. The question he is asking refers to promotional examinations, not a new hire.
