Main Page January 24 Academy

Has anyone received the hiring letter from HR yet for the January Corrections Officer academy? My BI wrapped up his report last Friday and now I am waiting for the letter to come. My background is clean so I am not expecting any problems........the BI said he submitted my package and the academy starts on the 24th of January. Is that a good sign that he said when the academy started? I would think if it didn't look good for me he would just say he submitted my package and nothing else.............any input?

You should be good to go, I got my letter 2 weeks before the start of the Academy. Lol on getting a card from Transit we lost 3 guys from my class to MBTA within months of graduating.

I just got my letter today. Tentative upon the completion of my industrial health questionaire. It said the academy starts on the 23rd and I have to have the questionaire in by the 6th. Good luck to you and hopefully I will see you there.

Good Luck!!, I am also from Webster and graduated from the academy in November, Good luck in the academy, I am hoping to get up there for the first day to watch the festivities.

The festivities, huh? What should I expect on that first day? I made it through Parris Island in the Corps. so I am not stressing..........just curious as to what level of hell will be breaking loose

A new class that could be starting in late January. This is a great site to learn, find out stuff! The DOC / HRD doesn't share any information with us or the Union as far as the hiring numbers and academy dates. Now we have a possible date. That's great news! Welcome aboard all who are interested.

FJMAS, being a Marine you haven't a thing to worry about from what I hear. Search this great site in the Corrections forum for past info on the academy, hiring process, etc.

I called HR and they said that they will be mailing out something mid-week........so we should hear something over the next day or so. They're not allowing us too much time to make a plan on what to do and give two week notices, etc.
