Chicago Bulls' Mascot Sued For Bad High-Five



Dentist Claims His Arm Was Overextended And He Fell Forward



(AP) An errant high five has prompted a dentist to sue the Chicago Bulls for the actions of mascot Benny the Bull.

Don Kalant is alleging in the lawsuit filed Monday that he raised his hand to get a high-five from Barry Anderson, who plays the mascot. But instead of slapping Kalant's palm on Feb. 12, Anderson grabbed his arm as he fell forward, hyperextending Kalant's arm and rupturing his biceps muscle.

Kalant's attorney, Shawn Kasserman, says the mascot either inadvertently tripped or, as part of the shtick, tripped, grabbing Kalant's arm as he fell forward.

After the incident, Kasserman says Kalant had surgery and could miss as much as four months of work. Kalant is seeking unspecified damages for medical bills, physical pain and lost earnings.

Neither Bulls officials nor Anderson have commented on the lawsuit.
