To all who are starting the Academy on the 15th, congratulations. I just wanted to add a few things for your first day. Bring everything you were told to, do not arrive in PT gear, stay in your car until called out by the screaming DIs, and always, always lock your vehicle. The first day, and many times after they check to see if your car is secured, and pulled out baby seats, wallets, phones, and cigarettes. These are violation to begin with, but more importantly, where you park and train is located in the middle of a minimum security prison, where inmates walk around freely. It is very possible for an inmate to find an unlocked car and take what's important from it, even the whole car. So please, use your brain, listen, follow directions, and KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT for 10+ weeks and you'll be fine. Good luck.

Question about the gloves we have to bring.

Are they simply to survive PT in the winter, in which case i will buy the least expensive pair i can find?

Or will they become part of my uniform?

    thanks

Hey guys quick question when it come to selecting the size for our pt gear does anyone know if it mens sizes from small up or is there standard issue womans and mens from small up. I need to get back to them as soon as possible. But if I select a small and it turns out to a womans size small I am up a creek. Thanks all.

Less is better when it comes to brining anything in, but the alarm/key fob is fine.

They are simply to survive. In your case you are PT-ing starting in the winter which you will need them. Then come spring time your gonna be outside on the wet, muddy ground. I wouldn't waste alot of money on the gloves. Once you graduate I reccomend the UA gloves that I posted a few posts back.

Pretty sure it goes by standard men's sizes.
Men under strain can snap. Hurt themselves. Hurt others. That's why our job is talking, not yelling. You'll do better to think of this place like an intensive care ward in a hospital.

I cant find the BIC pens anywhere! Anyone have any luck? Everywhere I've been I'm told old BIC doesnt make that type anymore.

Does the 8.5X11 notebook have to be wireless or can it be regular college wirebound?

Ok on day 1 we have a test on the handbook I have read through it a few times, I find memorizing 20 pages of info to be quite the task, anyone willing to divulge specific topics or info to focus on ? As for the bic pens I couldn't find them either but what I am going to do is visit small convience stores tommorrow they tend to have old stock of stuff like that. Also the gatorade bottles I found them @ cvs (green and orange sport top) these are not available everywhere either. I quess the point of all this is if you wait till the night before to get everything your screwed seems like all hard to find stuff
